How to Copy and Paste Multiple Effects in Premiere Pro (The Easy Way)
If you're editing in Adobe Premiere Pro and want to apply the same look across multiple clips, you don't need to add each effect manually. Whether it's Lumetri Color, noise, or film grain you can copy all your effects at once and paste them onto any number of clips. Here’s how.
Step 1: Open the Right Panel
Make sure the Effect Controls panel is visible. You can do this by going to the top menu and selecting:
Window → Effect Controls
This panel lets you see and manage all the effects on your selected clip.
Step 2: Choose the Source Clip
Find the clip in your timeline that already has the effects applied. It might have Lumetri Color, noise, FilmConvert, or other creative tools stacked in it.
Step 3: Copy the Effects
In the Effect Controls panel, select all the effects you want to reuse — just skip anything like Time Remapping that you don’t want to duplicate. Then:
Hit Ctrl+C (Windows) or Cmd+C (Mac)
Or right-click and choose Copy
Step 4: Select Target Clips
Highlight all the clips you want to apply the copied effects to. You can do this by holding down Shift and clicking each clip in the timeline.
Make sure the clips are selected, you’ll know by the little white border around each one.
Step 5: Paste the Effects
With the new clips selected, hit:
Ctrl+V (Windows) or Cmd+V (Mac)
You’ll see the effects instantly appear on each selected clip. The "fx" badge in the top-left corner of each clip will indicate that the effects were successfully applied.
Bonus Tip: Quickly View Clip Effects
Want to check what effects are applied on a clip? Click the clip in the timeline and hit the small "fx" button in the Effect Controls panel. It will jump you straight to that clip's active effects for quick review and adjustments.
This technique is a lifesaver when editing long sequences, montages, or interviews where consistency matters. Instead of tweaking every single clip, just set your look once and paste it wherever needed.
