Beta Testing Program
Try new tools before anyone else, help us squash bugs, and talk directly to the development team. Shape the future of Filmit from the inside.
What is the Beta Program?
When we build a new plugin or ship a major update, beta testers get access first. You install the pre-release version through Filmit Studio, use it on real projects, and tell us what works and what doesn't.
This isn't a demo or a limited trial. Beta plugins are fully functional tools that are days or weeks away from public release. You're the final checkpoint before they ship to every Filmit user.
What you get
New plugins and major updates land in your Studio before anyone else. Weeks ahead of the public release.
Unlock the private #beta-testers channel. Talk directly to the dev team, report bugs, suggest features in real time.
Your feedback directly influences what ships. Spotted something weird? We fix it before it reaches production.
Get recognized on your Filmit profile and Discord with a Beta Tester badge. Plus credits in plugin release notes.
Direct Line to the Dev Team
Beta testers get exclusive access to the #beta-testers channel on our Discord server. This is where you:
- Report bugs and get same-day responses from the team
- See what's being built before it's announced
- Vote on what gets prioritized next
- Chat one-on-one with the developers building your tools
- Get the Beta Tester role with full privileges
How to join
You need an active subscription to join the beta program. Any plan works.
Head to your dashboard and sign in with your Filmit account.
Go to Beta Program in your dashboard and click "Join Beta Program." That's it.
Open Filmit Studio on your desktop. Beta plugins will show up alongside your stable tools, marked with a beta badge.
Join the Filmit Discord and introduce yourself in #beta-testers. You'll get the Beta Tester role and full access to private channels.
What we ask of you
Being a beta tester is simple. There are no quotas or commitments. Just use the tools in your real workflow and tell us what you find.
Frequently asked questions
That's the point! Beta plugins are pre-release and may have bugs. Your stable plugins are never affected. If something crashes, report it on Discord or the bug form and we'll fix it fast.
Yes. You can leave the beta program anytime from your dashboard. Beta plugins will be removed from your Studio on the next sync.
It varies. When we're actively building a new plugin, you might see updates several times a week. Between projects, it's quieter. You'll always get a heads up on Discord.
No. Some plugins target AE, some target Premiere, some both. You can test whichever ones match the software you use.
Absolutely. When a beta plugin graduates to stable, it stays in your library. You just helped it get there.
